If checked, it is used for processing all documents in the application. Any of the ScanFlex Options that are checked are also enabled. ScanFlex can be disabled by unchecking the box. If disabled, all of the ScanFlex Options are also disabled, whether they are checked or not.
The default setting for ScanFlex is disabled. There is no performance penalty for using any ScanFlex function. When the ScanFlex module is installed and enabled, Enable minimum grayboxes is the default setting and is checked.
If grayboxes are analyzed, ScanFlex will automatically adjust the size of the Evaluate Region and the Clip Region to compensate for variations in print location. The Evaluate Region is reduced, if necessary, to make sure dark areas outside the evaluation area are not included, even if the area is skewed. The Clip Region is enlarged, if necessary, to make sure the entire area is clipped, even if the area is skewed. This setting is enabled by default and used for processing all forms.
This ScanFlex function can be disabled by unchecking the box. In cases of extreme skew, the evaluation region may be reduced to a very small area when Enable minimum grayboxes is selected.
ScanFlex expects timing marks to be of uniform size and shape. This setting enables ScanFlex to ignore doodling or other marking in the timing track that is not consistent with average timing mark height and width.
This function enables performance of scan-time image archiving with the iNAME image archive function. This control requires a form ID printed in a specific location on either the first or last timing mark of each sheet in the document.
It also requires the first and last timing marks be at least four inches apart. For details see Horizontal Adjustment. Select which timing mark contains the printed form ID mark used for the horizontal adjustment. You can select both items, in which case ScanTools software uses which ever form ID mark is encountered first. If the required form ID mark is not present, no horizontal adjustment is made, even if Enable Form ID adjust is checked for your application.
Applications will also run in the low speed mode but there is no advantage to doing so except if processing ICR , very small characters, or very complex characters.
