Item specifics. Like New:. Seller Notes:. Region Code:. Sony PlayStation 2. Release Year:. The combat is thoroughly fleshed-out, letting you grab Romans by their ankles and spin them around your head, smacking everyone in the vicinity. Home Reviews. Pros Creative minigames Co-op story mode Goofy fun combat.

Cons Minigames lack variety So-so graphics Not much replay value. Complete the Romanophone to gain you access to a building along the eastern wall. Go to the top of this building where you will see a cable car. Before entering it, look to the right of it for some climbing ledges, at the end of which you will find some pigeon cages Now enter the cable car and have Obelix pull it to the end of the track.

You will again have to use teamwork to fill the two targets that appear. Use Obelix to bash and spin blue Romans, and pass them up to Asterix a button will appear over his head when your aim is correct.

Fill the target and then enter the next cable car with Asterix. At the end, follow the rooftops north to a red target. Again, pass Romans up to Asterix red ones this time until the target is full, and the gate to Brutus' apartments will open. Before you leave, there are some collectibles to gather in this area.

Take one of the blocks that you stacked up earlier and place it on the switch in the center of the area. You will see a target spin around up above. Make your way over to the target and you will be mobbed by Romans with which you can fill the target.

When full, a gate will open directly below the target containing two pigeon cages Now re-enter the building which has the cable car at the top. Take the cable car all the way to the end, jump off, and enter the second cable car. Before you pull Asterix around the first turn, switch to Asterix and jump out of the cable car to the ledge above a fountain.

Go left down some stairs to a switch which will open two gates, allowing Obelix to run through and open more pigeon cages Now I didn't watch the cinematics in this game, but I'm assuming Brutus had some nasty trick in store for us, which means instead of exploring his apartments, you are dumped into the underground. The good news, however, is that directly in front of you is your last magnesia 3!!

All magnesia found Find all the magnesia to unlock this achievement. Have Asterix follow the path behind the magnesia to find a toadball dispenser and a switch. Step on the switch to reveal some platforms that Obelix can follow to Dogmatix and a target lower path to the right. Fill the target as per usual, and a step will rise allowing access to climbing ledges. First, have Asterix compress the switch again and take Obelix on the higher path to the right to discover another switch.

This switch toggles some of the climbing ledges, so step on it and switch back to Asterix. Continue along the path until you reach the step you raised with the target.

Climb up the ledges to an alcove with another shield 8 in it. Continue climbing up and to the right. You can switch to Obelix mid-climb in order to toggle which ledges are avaible, just make sure not to do this while Asterix is on a toggling ledge, or you will drop. When you reach the top you will find a mechanism which will create a bridge and open a bunch of gates.

Don't go where Dogmatix is pointing just yet, but drop down the ledge in front of him to find a pigeon cage Continue to the left along some shaking platforms, and at the far left you will find another pigeon cage 42 in the small room. There is another pigeon cage 43 located at the bottom right of the climbing wall you used earlier, directly below the mechanism you used to open the gates and create the bridges. Feel free to use Dogmatix's pigeon compass RT with Obelix to find some of these, as it can get confusing.

Now head back and have Obelix stand on the switch where Dogmatix is waiting. Take Asterix across and go all the way to the left. You will see another pigeon cage 44 in the back corner.

Use the left-hand climbing ledges and jump your way across to where Dogmatix is waiting to reach another mechanism, which will create another bridge. Now bring Asterix to where Obelix is, and take his place on the switch. Bring Obelix across the first bridge and use him to compress the next switch, toggling on some ledges. Switch back to Asterix and climb up the ledges and, at the top, duck through the hole on the left wall. Obelix will automatically join you in a few seconds so that both characters can compress the two switches here.

The next section is a simple timing game. Have Obelix compress the switch, and use Asterix to dart between the saw blades. At the end, on the left through a hole, is another mechanism which will turn off the saw blades and steady the bridge for Obelix to cross. That's right, the underground leads directly into a bath house. Go up the ramp in front of you, and then immediately slide down the ramp on the other side to grab a shield 9.

Continue along the path until you find a Romanophone. Play through the tune until you hit the last note, which is red. The crazy red Roman is on a ledge you can't reach, but there is a way around this. Some non-coloured Romans will enter the fray. You can hit this without penalty, so stun one and spin him hitting other colours with a spinning Roman doesn't matter. Throw him towards the red Roman, who will jump over to attack you. Hit him once to finish the tune and complete the Romanophone, thus opening the gate.

Push the block down to continue. You are now back in the VIP zone. Use the block you just lowered to reach a shield 10 on a slanted roof.

Head down the steps to your left not towards Brutus' Quarters to see a cut scene showing you some Greek pillars and some shielded Romans guarding a rock. Fight off some of the Romans and push the rock back and to the right until you are beneath the floating shield Jump up to grab it, and then push the boulder over so you can jump up and access the cable car this will be on the left-hand side if you are facing away from the bath house.

Now you will need to pull the rope with Obelix all the way around, but first move the boulder so that you can jump with the rope in hand onto the nearby rooftop. Follow the long cable path as far as you can go, you should be near where you entered the area from the bath house.

You will need to get across this large gap, so let go of the rope and jump down to where the Greek pillars are. Move them around so that you are able to double jump from one to the other to reach the other side. This is a pretty simple movement puzzle, so just move the pillars around until one is at each end of the gap in front of the ends of what would have been a bridge. It also works if you put them right beside each other and jump from the second one across.

Anyway, on the other side of the gap you will find two pigeon cages Then continue pulling Asterix to the end of the cable car until you jump off onto a climbing ledge. Go right and drop down to the switch to open the gate into the chariot race area. Now angle yourself so that you see the climbing ledge below you on the same wall as before.

Jump to this ledge and leap to the right to find more pigeon cages Take Asterix back along the cable car path from the beginning not in the car, just walk along it.

After the second jump between buildings first is between the two red buildings, second is after the black void stuff , you will see some climbing ledges on your left.

Follow these until you land beside more pigeon cages Free all the pigeons. Open all the pigeon cages in the game to unlock this achievement. Now that you have all the pigeons, a scene showed the birds destroying the statue in Brutus' quarters. Head back over there and go to where the statue was go around the left side of the building in front of you to grab your final shield 12 in the rubble.

All shields found Find all the shields to unlock this achievement. If you go back to the entrance to the Olympic Village and speak with the Greek there, the final two Olympic events will now be available. The final events are:. While you are here, hopefully you have collected enough helmets to purchase the final few bash moves from the shop. If you don't have enough yet, don't worry, you will be farming helmets in a few minutes.

I will assume you already have the 15, required to purchase twister, and once you buy all of the bashes you will unlock:. All upgrades purchased Purchase all the combat upgrades to unlock this achievement. I'm not even going to give this its own section. Through the doors you will have to complete another chariot race, this time against Brutus.

This may take a few tries, but use the same tactics as you did against Doctormabus earlier. Try to push him into as many crates as you can, while avoiding them yourself. Grab the bonus chests for extra health and Romans to whip at your opponent. When you win, a long cutscene will show, and you will be back outside Doctormabus' lair, ready to complete the game.

Now you are just outside Doctormabus' lair, and you need to reach the Roman above the gate in order to release the switch. Go up the path on the right, then up the ramp to to left. On your left, there are some wooden platforms which you climbed earlier for collectibles. At the top of these platforms is a cable car. Follow the cable car to the end and land next to the Roman on the switch. After a few bashes, the switch will be free, and the gates to the final area will open.

This is the final battle of the game, and you are required to defeat 1,, Romans to complete it you read that right. It really is much simpler than it sounds, but you actually don't want to do it yet. Spin Romans overhead to rack up tons of hits, but make sure you have one nearby when you throw it so you can keep your combo from dropping.

Don't try to spin two consecutive Romans, as there isn't enough time on the combo timer. It may take a few tries and a bit of frustration for the , but the 50 should come in no time. Once you get both, you will have earned:. Now you can farm helmets. Keep bashing Romans, and look for the multipliers that drop out of them.

There are both 3x and 10x multipliers you can collect which will really reduce time spent on these achievements. Grab a 10X and you will have 16X. Just like combos, the multiplier has a timer, and if you don't collect another one fast enough, you will go back down to zero. Keep bashing away, collecting multipliers, and you should gather helmets very quickly. Don't worry if you die, the game will just re-start the Romans counter and you will keep all collected helmets.

All previously spent helmets count as well, so you should be around the k mark already. Eventually you will reach the two required plateaus 50k and k and you will unlock:. Now you can finish the game! You need the twister move for this, so if you haven't purchased it yet, you will need to go back to the beginning and buy twister from the shop unlocking the upgrades achievement if you hadn't.

Now look around the area to find one of Asterix's power potions. Grab it, and buttons will pop up allowing you to turn into a tornado. When you do, mash on the X button as quickly as you can to eliminate between thousand Romans in no time. Wait a while and the potion will re-spawn.
